THE O2 CELEBRATES RECORD FIRST QUARTER RESULTS
Surging demand, record-breaking onsales, and an exceptional roster of first-time performances fuel an extraordinary start to 2025 at the world’s most iconic arena
The O2, the world’s premier live entertainment, leisure, and retail destination, owned and operated by AEG Europe, is celebrating an extraordinary first quarter in 2025, having hosted 48 shows in the first three months—marking a 9% increase in performances compared to Q1 2024. Alongside this, onsales surged by an impressive 125%, with 45 performances released, and 10 headline acts making their debut on The O2 stage.
The venue’s diverse events calendar spans a wide spectrum of entertainment, from cutting-edge sports events to globally renowned music acts and family-friendly spectacles. The O2 kicked off the year with a show-stopping roster, including the groundbreaking F1 75 Live—a world-first sport event that saw all ten teams, drivers, and team principals take to the stage for a historic indoor season launch. The quarter also saw the return of UFC – with a record-breaking Fight Night – and iconic WWE events SmackDown and Raw, further solidifying The O2’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class sports.
The venue’s international appeal continued to shine with performances from global superstars like Singapore’s JJ Lin and South Korea’s ATEEZ and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, alongside homegrown talent like James Blunt and Craig David. A highlight of the quarter was Young Voices, where more than 60,000 children took to The O2 stage across eight performances, showcasing the venue’s ability to host large-scale, family-friendly events alongside cutting-edge performances.
“We are thrilled by the tremendous success of Q1 and the vast variety of events that have taken place at The O2 so far this year,” said Emma Bownes, Senior Vice President of Venue Programming, AEG Europe. “Our teams have worked tirelessly to deliver unforgettable experiences to over 600,000 fans, and we are grateful to the returning and new artists and events that continue to choose The O2 as their stage. With another exciting quarter ahead, we’re eager to bring even more world-class content to our audiences.”
As the world’s busiest live entertainment venue, The O2’s first quarter featured a seamless delivery of productions to the highest standard. This was exemplified by the return of The BRIT Awards for its 14th appearance, featuring a complex live TV production with eight performances, an awards ceremony, and a dynamic stage setup. The O2’s agility was on full display as it quickly turned around for Gracie Abrams and Sabrina Carpenter, before welcoming one of the biggest weekends of the year with C2C: Country to Country, Europe’s largest country music festival, which attracted over 50,000 fans across the weekend.
From January 1 to March 31, The O2 hosted a dynamic mix of unique events and outstanding performances, including 10 headline acts who performed for the very first time at the arena. Artists such as Kehlani, Bullet For My Valentine + Trivium, Pitbull, Cyndi Lauper, and Shane Gillis were all honoured with The O2’s coveted First Time Award.
Looking ahead, the venue is set to maintain its momentum with an exciting lineup for Q2, including a 10-night UK-exclusive residency from global superstar Usher, setting the stage for another unforgettable quarter.
