  • The year-long partnership will raise awareness of the CU London Greenwich campus and variety of courses amongst The O2’s visitors and workforce

The O2, the world’s most popular music, entertainment, and leisure venue, has today announced a new partnership with CU London Greenwich, part of the Coventry University Group, as the venue’s Official Higher Education Partner.

Through the partnership, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, CU London Greenwich will aim to maximise engagement and participation at its London campus, situated near The Oon the Greenwich Peninsula, and provide visitors to the world-famous venue the opportunity to learn more about its competitively priced courses. With no end of year exams, and the majority of courses having six start dates, CU London Greenwich offers prospective students the chance to choose a different degree experience, as many of the courses offer carefully structured timetables, with classes giving the convenience of regular hours and the possibility of fitting in other commitments like a part-time job or family responsibilities.

The year-long partnership includes promotional rights across The O2’s out of home networks as well as access to in-venue activation spaces, giving concertgoers, diners and shoppers visiting The O2 the opportunity to speak directly to staff and students from the university to learn more about the course offerings available. Employees at The O2, including full time and zero-hour staff members, will also be able to benefit from opportunities for direct engagement with the CU London Greenwich course ambassadors via staff briefings, site tours and unique offers specific to them.

Nathan Kosky, Vice President (Europe) at AEG Global Partnerships said: “We’re so pleased to be welcoming CU London Greenwich, as part of the Coventry University Group, to The O2 as an official partner for 2023. The breadth of their courses is something that we know will hugely appeal to our visitors, as well as our workforce, which already features proud alumni from Coventry University Group such as our very own Scott Adams, who led on securing this partnership. We’re looking forward to working closely with the CU London team this year and are proud to be able to support this local campus as part of a purpose-driven partnership which drives awareness and promotes educational opportunities.”

Andy Ginn, Associate Pro Vice Chancellor at CU London said: We’re delighted to be teaming up with The O2, and are excited to be hugely expanding our employer, community, and sector engagement opportunities. Our extensive professional development short course offer, our seven-day-a-week campus availability and full-time undergraduate degree courses typically comprising two days a week attendance at the North Greenwich campus, are ideally positioned to cater for The O2’s incredibly diverse range of customers, workforce, and stakeholders.”

2023 is set to be a big year for The O2, as the arena will host over 200 events from some of the best UK and international artists including ten nights of Elton John, a monthly residency with Peter Kay, and performances from Madonna, Shania Twain, Kevin Hart, Blink-182 and more.
