McFly, Sugababes, The Vamps and Penn and Teller to perform in the much-anticipated opening of iconic The Halls Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton, 31^st January 2023: AEG Presents, a division of AEG Europe’s sports, entertainment and venue operator family, has today announced a sensational line up of shows taking place across June, marking the much-anticipated opening of iconic venue The Halls Wolverhampton. McFly, Sugababes, The Vamps and Penn and Teller will all perform across the month as fans gear up to experience the newly restored and refurbished Grade II listed space for the first time.

There is a huge line up of already announced and soon-to-be announced shows to celebrate the

opening of The Halls Wolverhampton in style. McFly, Sugababes, The Vamps and Penn and Teller, amongst others, will be available for sale from 3 February 2023. Shows by Leftfield and Chris Isaak are already part of the launch month and more names will be added soon to the June opening program.

The Halls Wolverhampton officially reopens in June following a major multi-million-pound refurbishment programme undertaken by City of Wolverhampton Council in partnership with by AEG Presents

Penn and Teller – June 1st 2023

Penn and Teller are American magicians and entertainers who have performed together since the late 1970s. From busking on the streets of Philadelphia to selling out runs on Broadway, they are one of the most loved acts in Las Vegas history.

The Vamps – June 10th 2023

Consisting of Brad Simpson, James Brittain-McVey, Connor Ball and Tristan Evans, British pop-rock band The Vamps have gone from strength to strength since their 2014 debut album ‘Meet the Vamps’. Two Number 1 albums, 4 billion streams and 5 consecutive years of sold outThe O2Arena headline shows (the first band to ever achieve this) later, The Vamps are currently celebrating 10 years since conception with their Greatest Hits World Tour.

McFly – June 16th 2023

Formed in 2003, the London-based band is one of the most iconic British bands of the 00s. The group consists of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd. McFly rose to fame in 2004 with their debut album Room on the 3rd Floor, which landed them at number 1 in the UK Album Charts, becoming the youngest band ever to have an album debut at number one – a title taken from The Beatles. They have since increased their tally to 7 number 1 singles, 6 Top 10 albums and a BRIT award, and are now touring again with their 2020 album Young Dumb Thrills.

Sugababes – June 29th 2023

Classic British girl group, the Sugababes, are back with the original line-up of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy. Formed in 1998, the Sugababes are one of the only British girl groups to have six number one UK singles, surpassed only by the Spice Girls. They have released five UK top ten albums, four of which were certified Platinum in the UK, and have been nominated for six Brit Awards. The era-defining girl group has made an epic comeback with a sold-out Glastonbury performance and new album, which they have waited eight years to release.

The 3,404 capacity ‘The Civic at The Halls Wolverhampton’ and 1,289 ‘The Wulfrun at The Halls Wolverhampton’ will play a key part in the city’s economic recovery hosting leading music and entertainment performers, as well as business events and conferences. It will attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city, boosting the local economy by £10+ million per annum. Plans will also benefit local businesses, as well as create new employment opportunities, raising the city’s national and international profile.

Sustainability and accessibility are at the heart of the refurbishment and The Halls Wolverhampton will use new mechanical and engineering services resulting in the venue running to the utmost efficiency.

Visitors will enjoy more comfortable seats, a greater number of bars and enhanced space to socialise, expanded and revamped toilet facilities, lift access for those viewing from the new balcony level, better access arrangements for disabled visitors (including enhanced wheelchair access), a greater number of accessible viewing points and improved room temperatures through the installation of a new air handling system.
