KPOP LUX LONDON ANNOUNCES HEADLINE ARTISTS AND TICKET ONSALES FOR UPCOMING FESTIVAL AT THE O2

The first three acts for KPOP LUX SBS Super Concert London, taking place at The O2from 22-24 September 2023, have been announced as The Boyz, TXT and ITZY. Other acts will be revealed over the coming days.

Priority Tickets are available toThe O2and Virgin Media customers at https://priority.o2.co.uk/ from 10am on Wednesday 9 August and go on general sale at 10am on Friday 11 August via www.theo2.co.uk. Ticket options available include single-day tickets, three-day tickets and VIP & VVIP tickets.

TXT is a 5-member group from Big Hit Music that debuted in 2019.  Considered by many to be the next BTS, their debut EP peaked at number one on the Billboard World Albums Chart and entered the US Billboard at 140 – the highest ranking for a male K-pop group at the time.

ITZY – also a 5-member group that debuted in 2019.  Their fan base is one of the highest for any female KPOP group.

THE BOYZ – although they have been around since 2017, they have only really reached headline status recently and their trajectory looks to continue upwards at a rapid rate.

K-pop is short for Korean popular music.  There are many styles under the umbrella of K-pop including pop, rap, hip hop, rock, and electronic.  Contemporary K-pop debuted in the early 1990’s – 1992 to be more specific with Leo Taji and Boys. There are four generations of K-pop with the fifth expected to begin around 2024 / 2025.  It is one of the fastest growing music genres around with popularity more than doubling in many countries year on year.

 

K-pop groups have their own unique fashion style and dance moves and are typically formed by management agencies and the members undergo years of rigorous training.  These international super stars, referred to as idols, are setting new trends around the world.  They are gracing the covers of fashion magazines, lighting up runways, driving political movements and collaborating with the giants of other genres.

K-pop has a global following of over 200 million people and the #KpopTwitter has over 8 billion tweets.  The European fan base in growing at a rapid rate with festivals, concerts and tours making the music more attractive and accessible than ever before.
